Here is Dek a few weeks ago at the Fort Reno show watching dad and Tito Emil. He is going to be a metal kid. All the moshing already!

Apologies for the Blair Witch like filming, its difficult to ever get photos or video of Derek b/c he is constantly grabbing at the phone/camera/whatever. One of his new words is "Nhay" (Jump in Vietnamese), so here we are trying to get him in action.

Relaxing Duo

You know what they say, like father, like son. Here is Dek and Mike relaxing on the rooftop before watching fireworks. Wuipings building has a great view that lets you see the downtown and surrounding firework displays in the other surrounding counties.

It was Derek's first big fireworks (he slept through it last year). Having Dek has definitely helped me be more appreciative of all the wonderful freedoms we enjoy and the sacrifices of so many who make it possible.

No turning back (literally)

Dek is in the intense toddler stage of running far, far away of not looking back yet. Here we are at our neighborhood park and he just crosses that bridge without a care in the world. A few months ago, he ran almost 100 feet from a shopping center in the garage without looking back! I just followed him to see at which point he might turn. He's a fast one and I may be one one of those parents with a leash soon (sigh).
