2nd Haircut

Dek has been remarkably bald (rockin' the Asian Stressed Business Executive Look) for most his life, but after his 2nd birthday he started getting more hair. His aunt, Bac Uyen, took him for a hair cut. He loved it. His first official haircut was a few months back in the Philippines. Here is the little man getting his locks reshaped again.

Dek Goes to Washington

On a sunny afternoon, Dek's aunt (Bac Cun) takes him to the Capitol to attend a retirement party for a Senate staffer. Good times!

Sleeeepover!

During the madness of last month's Asia Heritage activities, Dek spent the night with Cousin Elliot while we worked the festival. They had a great time together including matching shirts at the end of the day!

Defending the Republic

Here is the little man with the Republic of Vietnam flag at Eden Center before heading off to indulge in  big bowl of Pho. He has become quite the chatterbox post his 2.5 mark. His Viet skills are declining, though he understands lots he still prefers English as he has noticed that is the common language currency, rather than Viet or Tagalog. He does understand the concept if different words for the same thing. If he answers me in English, I will ask for Viet and he complies - especially for animals (favor sites recently are snakes, monkeys and lions).

Pupeteer Dek

Our final stop in NYC before getting back on the bus was the puppet station at FAO.

Mozart (by Foot)

No trip is complete without visiting the Big Piano at FAO Schwartz. Dek helped compose some nice Sonatinas while bouncing around for a bit.

Crashing at the Hilton

Of course after a long day in the Big Apple, Dek promptly passed out from all that hard partying. He got his own queen bed - lucky duck! We stayed on the 19th floor in the Garden District so we overlooked some nice rooftop gardens along with lots of water towers at our height. The little man certainly enjoyed the view.
