Derek has been going through a Daddy phase. He calls for him at night, insists that he tucks him in at night and seems to always prefer Daddy's company. Though I was initially hurt, I've decided to see the bright side of things and enjoy more additional free time in the evening. Most recently, he even pointed me out of the room on a particularly trying evening and said, "I don't want Mommy! Leave mommy!" At first shocked, I couldn't help but also crack up since he said it with such sincerity and gusto - I simply asked that next time he possibly tone it down so my ego isn't so bruised.
